Brian Murray Is Winner of 5K!
SANBORN, NY (May 4, 2002) - Brian Murray was the overall winner of the Trailblazers Spring Stampede 5K held Friday evening at the NCCC campus. The 39 year old Newfane resident's winning time was 17:34. Judy Arlington led all women finishers in 18:25. Originally BuffaloRunners.com had listed Thomas Dessauer as the winner. Thomas had actually finished 2nd. The results were manually tabulated from race tags provided by the race director and apparently someone had taken Brian's winning race tag as a souvenir and so the winner was ironically omitted from the results. BuffaloRunners.com apologizes for this monumental gaffe! Huge congratulations are in order to Brian for a really great run Friday night. Brian's performance was a tremendous 44-second improvement over his Town of Tonawanda 5K effort only two weeks earlier. It looks like he's found his stride. |
