This race has been bashed in the past for the lack of computerized timing - amongst other things...
I ran in the Rochester Corporate Challenge last night, and they had timing chips in the bibs, mats at the beginning and end, and a 3 wave start. Granted, it's still more of a corporate bonding session than a race, but it was nice to see that they finally brought the event up to speed.
Wonder if the Bflo Corporate Challenge will follow suit? |

The corporate challenge website says that we are to have chip timing at the buffalo race. I was looking at the following page on the website http://www.jpmorganchasecc.com/events.php?page=scoring&city_id=7. Sounds like the situation at Rochester. I am looking forward to the event.

See you around at the races. |

| Ed, yes chip timing is being used at all the Corporate Challenge races this year. Not sure about the comment about bashing - the race has been presented at a high level every year with changes made to address any issues. As race directors of this event for 28 years, we were thrilled to have the largest race in Buffalo legitimized with the addition of chip timing. So at 12,700 runners with chips in the bibs and wave starts - Buffalo's Corporate Challenge is the biggest race in town. And then add the whole corporate social event aspect with over 300 tents and an estimated 30,000 enjoying a beautiful night in Delaware Park ! Not to be missed. |

| I think all of the factors noted by Alice, in addition to good summer weather, makes this one of the best races of the season - the Super Bowl of Buffalo running. |

Will awards be determined by gun time, or chip time? Also, will there be a timing mat at the starting line as well as at the finish line?

| Chip timing and 3 wave starts this year. And yes there will be a timing mat at the start and the finish line. So first male and female individuals by gun time. All team awards by chip time. |

What a stellar team UB put together! - Unofficially 1:16:38
Fastest local male team in as far back as I can remember - possibly ever.
That time would have put them right behind #5 team in the Championships.
They even have depth. 8 guys under 22:30
Well Done |

GO UB! I was really trying for 4th but could hold onto Jim past mile 2. I thought this year's CC was much better as a result of the chip timing and corral starts.
I was a little gun shy about how well the red corral would work but it was on lockdown. No one without a red bib was getting in due to the numerous volunteers on guard. It was a easy start with no issue. The turkey trot needs to do something like this.
The QR codes on the bibs were also fun to check each other times and they were updated before I could even get back to my phone to scan it. Worked well.
My Fav CC so far |
